    Fri 26 Jun 2015 Mr D Hughes
Both school garden areas are looking fanstastic at the moment. A big thank you for making this happen must go to Mrs Cottam, Taid Roy and their budding team of gardeners, who are a mixture of pupils and parents. As you can see from the photographs we have got a variety of vegetables growing and most will be ready to be sold during the summer fayre on Tuesday, 30th June.

  • Sports Day

    Fri 26 Jun 2015 Mr D Hughes
We have been extremely fortunate with the weather this year as it allowed for all 6 of our sports days to run as planned. A big thank you to all the pupils who participated and again to all the parents who supported and encouraged each and every competitor. This year saw the Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 rooms compete against eachother as opposed to houses. Room 12 were champions of the Year 3/4 sports day and Room 14 were champions of the Year 5/6 sports day. Well done to Tyler Williams and Millie Francis-Owen who won the individual Victor/Victrix Ludorum.
  • We did it!! Flint - Caerphilly Cycling Challenge

    Fri 29 May 2015 Mr D Hughes

During this half term both Mr Griffiths and Mr Hughes cycled from Flint to Caerphilly to raise money for the Urdd National Eisteddfod which will be visiting Flint in May 2016. Along with Mr Dave Watkin-Jones (ex head of Pentrellyncymer) the trio departed Flint High School at midnight on Thursday, 28th May and cycled throughout the morning before arriving at the Eisteddfod field shortly after 2pm. With nearly 11 hours of continuous cycling and 154 miles in their legs the three were glad to reach their destination in one piece. Many thanks for all who sponsored and helped during the challenge. The total money raised was around £5000.

  • Urdd Cycle Challenge

    Fri 22 May 2015 Mr D Hughes

Congratulations to all who took part in this event. As a school we have raised well over £2000 towards the Flint Appeal to bring the Urdd National Eisteddfod to Flint in May 2016. The Foundation Phase pupils totalled 155 miles while the Juniors completed nearly 200 miles. I’m sure they would have easily doubled this if we had let them!! With all that pressure it now only remains for Mr Griffiths and Mr Hughes to cycle the 154 miles to Caerphilly in one go (approximately 15 hours) to complete the challenge. Our thanks also to those of you who have given via www.justgiving.com/Flint-i-Caerfilli

Well done and thanks to all those who donated to the Nepal Earthquake Appeal. We raised a fantastic £804 which we gave directly to the “Brick School Charity” which supports our partner school out there. We have received news that the school was not badly damaged and is being used currently to house families who lost everything.
