  • KS2 Easter Service

    Mon 07 Apr 2014 Mr D Hughes
On Monday, 7th April the whole of KS2 performed their Easter service at the Parish Church in Flint. Year 5/6 pupils shared the Easter story whilst being supported by the acting skills of Room 12. A selection of Welsh and English hymns were performed by all the pupils including our very own version of 'You gotta be' by Des'ree. Many thanks for all the Mums, Dads and Grandparents in attendance; we hope you enjoyed the service. Happy Easter.
  • KS2 Disco

    Fri 04 Apr 2014 Mr D Hughes

Our KS2 pupils had a special treat on Thursday evening. For the past few weeks our amazing mid-day supervisors (MDSA's) had been arranging a disco for the pupils to enjoy. Many tickets were sold and a (very energetic!!) DJ was asked to come along to entertain everyone. Pupils enjoyed dressing up in their party clothes, singing karaoke, eating hot dogs and dancing to Gangnam Style on stage. Everybody at Ysgol Gwynedd is indebted to the hard work of the MDSA's who take great care of all our pupils during the lunch hour, ensuring that they are happy and well looked after. The disco was a great way to share this special bond - Diolch!!

  • Kids Meet

    Thu 03 Apr 2014 Mr D Hughes
On Thursday, 3rd April pupils from Year 5 were invited to visit Cornist Park School to take part in a 'Kids Meet' learning session. The session involved 5 schools from Flintshire (Ysgol Owen Jones, Cornist Park School, Ysgol Bryn Gwalia, Broughton Primary School and Ysgol Gwynedd) and Ysgol Casllwchwr, Swansea via Facetime.  Each school were given an opportunity to present to each other in a carousel format.  Ysgol Gwynedd presented about Wikis and how they have helped them learn about their topic and and how they can make connections using links to other subjects. It was also an opportunity for our pupils to meet new friends whilst learning about new digital initiatives such as coding with Scratch, Purple Mash, e-cadets and Hopscotch. Thank you to Cornist Park School for hosting a great learning experience.
