  • National Health Presentation

    On Thursday, 20th November Ysgol Gwynedd hosted the 2014 National Public Health presentation where the Executive Director for Public Health in Wales, Mr Andrew Jones, shared his Annual Report.   

     

    Nearly 150 people were in attendance to listen to presentations from key note speakers and also to watch performances from the Ysgol Gwynedd cheerleading and skipping teams. A group of Foundation Phase pupils also demonstrated how important the dental health programme has been to our school by showing off their toothbrushing skills.

     

    Olivia Clarke, a past pupil who now attends Year 7 at St Richard Gwyn, was also in attendance to collect her prize for designing the cover page of this years report.  Da iawn Olivia.

  • Remembrance Day 2014

    Pupils of Ysgol Gwynedd put their pencils down and stopped working in order to observe a 2 minute silence in remembrance of all the fallen heroes.

     

    In addition to this, the Year 5/6 members of the school council were invited down to St Mary's Church where Reverend Harvey led a moment of Remembrance along with the sounding of the last post. On our way back to school the pupils placed their crosses at the foot of the cenotaph.

  • Urdd Swimming Gala

    Thursday, 6th November saw 13 pupils from Ysgol Gwynedd participate in the Fflint and Maelor gala at Holywell Leisure Centre. The event was well attended with over 20 schools participating for both the Year 5/6 and Year 3/4 events. There was some excellent swimming on display and we now wait to hear if any of our swimmers have qualified for the National Gala in Cardiff next January.
