• Christmas Carol Service

  Last day of term means one thing at Ysgol Gwynedd......whole school service!!! It's a day where Mr Griffiths gathers all pupils and every member of staff in the hall to give thanks for all their hard work.

   

  Mr Griffiths started with the Christmas story and then went on to explain why Christingle services are held in churches and what the significance is of each element of the Christingle. This was followed by Olivia and Lennon who gave bible readings and then everyone joined together to sing the 3 carols; Away in a Manger, Oh Little town of Bethlehem and Starry Night.

   

  At the end Mr Griffiths invited support staff, caretakers, office and kitchen staff with whom the school just cannot run without.

   

  To all pupils, have a wonderful Christmas and remember true fulfilment in life comes from experiencing the most joys, not aquiring the most toys!

   

   

  

• Pantomime

  There has been a buzz of excitement around school as 420 pupils eagerly anticpate their visit to Rhyl Theatre to watch this years' pantomime. After having their own turn on stage during school Christmas performances it was now the their turn to sit back, relax and watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. from Ysgol Gwynedd. Foundation Phase visited the panto on Wednesday, 17th December and KS2 visited on the following day. What a great way to end all the Christmas festivities.

  

• KS2 Bowling

  As part of their Good To Be Green reward day Year 3 and 4 visited the Flint Pavillion to play ten pin bowling. The pupils enjoyed themselves greatly. A deserving reward after a long half term of hard work. Da iawn pawb!

  

• Christmas Performances 2014

  Every month in Ysgol Gwynedd seems to be a busy one but December is when all the stops are pulled out in preparation for the Christmas performances. As always, there are 4 different performances put on by the Early Years (Nursery and Reception), Years 1 and 2, Years 3 and 4 and finally Years 5 and 6.

   

  The fortnight festive programme kicked off with a nativity and carol concert perfromed by Years 3 and 4 at St Mary's church. Following that  Years 1 and 2 performed their show 'The Owl who was afraid of the dark' in front of packed audiences over two shows. Not to be upstaged, the Early Years also gave morning and afternoon performances of their Christmas sing along which included their very own version of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. To wrap up the entertainment, Years 5 and 6 performed 'Olivia - with a twist!' over 2 days displayed wonderful acting and skills in front of two large audiences.

   

  Well done to each and every pupil who has worked so hard in the lead up to their shows - you are a credit to Ysgol Gwynedd and the town of Flint.
