After the hustle bustle of the school fayre Ysgol Gwynedd were busy preparing the hall for the annual Flint's Got Talent show. The event is part of the week long Flint festival and involves children of the town performing. The evening was well attended a great success and the pupils from Ysgol Gwynedd enjoyed showing off their cheerleading and creative dance routines as well as being part of the mass choir along with Flint High School and Ysgol Croes Atti. It was also great to see some ex-pupils and their band 'The Sidelights' ending the evening with some well known songs. Well done to all who participated.
The school hosted a very successful summer fayre on what was the hottest day so far this year. The PTA worked tirelessly to turn the Foundation Phase yard into a summer market. A big thank you to Mrs Cottam for co-ordinating the event that raised over £1000.
Both school garden areas are looking fanstastic at the moment. A big thank you for making this happen must go to Mrs Cottam, Taid Roy and their budding team of gardeners, who are a mixture of pupils and parents. As you can see from the photographs we have got a variety of vegetables growing and most will be ready to be sold during the summer fayre on Tuesday, 30th June.
On Friday, 26th June pupils from KS2 visited Mold Leisure Centre to participate in the TATA 'kids of steel' Triathlon. All competitors needed to complete a 75m lap of the pool, cycle 2 laps around a rugby pitch and then end with a run. Well done to all who took part, you were a credit to Ysgol Gwynedd.
We have been extremely fortunate with the weather this year as it allowed for all 6 of our sports days to run as planned. A big thank you to all the pupils who participated and again to all the parents who supported and encouraged each and every competitor. This year saw the Lower KS2 and Upper KS2 rooms compete against eachother as opposed to houses. Room 12 were champions of the Year 3/4 sports day and Room 14 were champions of the Year 5/6 sports day. Well done to Tyler Williams and Millie Francis-Owen who won the individual Victor/Victrix Ludorum.
