  • Urdd Cycle Challenge

    Fri 22 May 2015 Mr D Hughes

Congratulations to all who took part in this event. As a school we have raised well over £2000 towards the Flint Appeal to bring the Urdd National Eisteddfod to Flint in May 2016. The Foundation Phase pupils totalled 155 miles while the Juniors completed nearly 200 miles. I’m sure they would have easily doubled this if we had let them!! With all that pressure it now only remains for Mr Griffiths and Mr Hughes to cycle the 154 miles to Caerphilly in one go (approximately 15 hours) to complete the challenge. Our thanks also to those of you who have given via www.justgiving.com/Flint-i-Caerfilli

    Mon 04 May 2015 Mr D Hughes

Well done and thanks to all those who donated to the Nepal Earthquake Appeal. We raised a fantastic £804 which we gave directly to the “Brick School Charity” which supports our partner school out there. We have received news that the school was not badly damaged and is being used currently to house families who lost everything.

Members of the school council visited Flint Town Hall this morning. The Year 5/6 members were invited by the Mayor of Flint and were given a tour of the building. Whilst in the council chamber the young councillors were able to experience what it would be like to be a town councillor. After having a mock debate in the chambers the pupils were then given the opportunity to ask the Mayor of Flint a variety of questions.
