History and Geography
Understanding change in set historical periods and the environment is part of the humanities programme. We visit National Trust properties, parks, rivers and Outdoor Education Centres to gain first hand experience.
A copy of the school’s History and Geography Policies are available upon request from the Headteacher.
Children are expected to attend collective worship and Religious Education lessons and activities. The new agreed syllabus for R.E. in Flintshire is used as a framework for planning lessons.
R.E. is part of a broader process of education, which helps children to make sense of the world and how they relate to it. In particular they must have an opportunity to learn about the Christian tradition, culture and practices, as well as to appreciate those of other religions of the world. Pupils gather together for a daily act of worship.
Under the provision of the Education Act parents may withdraw their children from these activities if they feel this necessary. Parents considering this are asked to inform the Headteacher in writing.
